Rocky Recreation and Public Fishing Area:  is located in northern Floyd County, Near Rome, Georgia, on 5,000 acres owned by Oglethorpe Power Corporation.  The area includes two recreation lakes, 559 total acres.  Largemouth bass and sunfish are the most common game fish in the lakes; however,  channel catfish, black crappie and hybrid white striped bass are also present.  Whitehall deer, turkey and waterfowl frequent the area providing visitors an opportunity to observe wildlife in a natural setting.  The lakes, with a backdrop of forest ridge lines and Rock Mountain offer visitors a scenic and relaxed setting in which to enjoy fishing, hunting, picnicking, hiking, camping and other outdoor activities.

Fishing:

• Hours:  Fishing is permitted from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week, year around.
• License:  Persons under 16 years old are not required to have a fishing license, but those under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult while in this area.  Persons at least 65 years old or disabled may fish with an honorary fishing license.  All other persons are required to have a Georgia annual fishing license, one-day fishing license, or a Sportsman's license.   A WMA Stamp is not required or valid.

Boats:
Fishing boats only (jet skis, sailboats, sailboards, skiing prohibited).  Idle speed (no Wake) required regardless of boat or motor size.  All boats registration and boating safety requirements are enforced. 

Boat Ramps:

• Located off Mountain View Drive (one in the west and east sub impoundment of Antoich Lake).  There is a boat passage-way under the causeway separating the Antoich Lake sub impoundments.
• The Heath Lake boat ramp is off Angler's Haven Drive.

Bank Access:

• Good Access for bank fishing is located near all boat ramps, near the visitors center, along the Mountain View Drive and Causeway, in the campgrounds,  and along the Wildwood Cove Drive parking lot, east of the beach.
• Check "Georgia Freshwater & Saltwater Sport Fishing Regulations" and the fishing guide for this area for more information.
• Check at visitor's center for other rules and regulations that may apply only at Rocky Mountain.

Hunting:
Hunting and firearms use is prohibited except during posted hunting seasons in designated area.
